no, science cannot since there are some fundamental limitations to what science can do....
example-- as the movies like MATRIX and THE 13th FLOOR pointed out, there is no scientific method which
can show that you are not within some sort of simulator and living a dream divorced from the nature of reality in some fashion.
science can only measure and test the contents of the dream, not what may under lie and generate the dream itself.
we are all trapped in the world of our own perceptions and unable to go outside of them to see their true source and nature.

How Do YOU Feel Knowing That YOU Were In A Cult?
by minimus infor years, i refused to think of the witnesses as a "cult".
too harsh and restrictive of a word for me......but there is no denying that we were all in a mind controlling cult.
are you embarrassed or uncomfortable knowing that you belonged to a cult just like the moonies and the branch davidians are/werw a cult?

a thought came to mind... no matter how bad JWs and other cults are, many of them allow you to leave.
my God-daughters BF is a Blood... he cannot ever "leave" without the possibility of one day being hunted down and murdered.

I don't know how to ask this ?

during that time i have been primarily focusing on improving my social skills: reconnecting with old high school pals, trying to make sense of the world, trying to connect with others, opening myself up to new belief systems, activities.
now that i am becoming more comfortable around people i am considering pursuing a relationship with someone.

in the normal bibles john 1:1 says "in the beginning was the word, and the word was with god, and the word was god.
" .... but the dubs version says"... and the word was a god".

words are symbolic triggers of meaning that exist in the minds of authors and readers, not in the words themselves.
if you try to find the definition of a word and the definitions of those definitions, you will end up back at the original word
eventually proving that no meaning exists in the word itself, but only in the expeirences such words trigger in you.
so like any other set of words, the expeirences of the reader will only match those of the author if they have lived the same things, which is not very likely over 2000+ years of distance.... the only reason we can read at all is because as humans we automatically share a tremendous amount of physical bodily expeirences in common...and because the earth is not that varied from one place to another, we have that too.
but culture, religion and traditions vary a great deal and when rituals are divorced from the words the words can take flight which is basically why there are thousands of protestant churchs but few orthodox.

Examples of JW evasiveness/dishonesty
by BONEZZ inbeing born and bred into the borg i always felt it was the "truth" but i wasn't the one who measured up i was not good enough to be a dub.
but i also had nagging questions that went unanswered by the most learned elders...or at least not answered to my satisfaction.
their "answers" were in fact not really answers but side-steps or attempts to mis-direct my question into an area they could answer.. an example...it always bothered me that we could not examine the contents of what opposers put out.
